Dublin Zoo holds the prestigious position of being ‘Ireland’s leading Fee Paying Family Attraction’ welcoming in excess of 1.1 million visitors each year.
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and passionate Discovery and Learning Manager who, under the direction of the Head of Discovery and Learning, will be responsible for expanding and promoting the educational role within Dublin Zoo.
He/she will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the passionate and enthusiastic Discovery and Learning Department ensuring the excellent delivery of the Zoo’s educational objectives.
He/she must possess excellent communication and management skills and have a good knowledge, understanding and passion for conservation, zoology, environmental education or similar specialisation.
Candidates must hold a third level qualification in biological or environmental science and have experience working with and presenting to a variety of audiences. Experience of education at primary, secondary or third level and a good knowledge of schools curriculum is essential. Demonstrable management of learning projects and teams is required.
The successful candidate will have a passion for wildlife and conservation which he/she will want to share with and inspire students at primary, secondary and third level and also members of the public, Zoo Volunteers and the Discovery and Learning Team.
