This internship is available via the Job Bridge scheme. Ref no. INTE-640846 (www.jobbridge.ie).
The intern will gain practical experience in understanding freshwater ecology condition of waters in South Dublin County, implementation in part of the Programme of Measures of the Eastern River Basin Management Plan as it relates to South Dublin County Council area, development of Council spatial recording of freshwater ecology data, report writing, liaison and communication skills, team working skills. The intern will carry out fieldwork, surveying and recording as well as desk-top ecology research. Informal training will be given by a selected Mentor and the team.
A person with good knowledge of freshwater ecology, in particular macroinvertebrate identification and an interest in developing the freshwater ecology understanding within the County. A full driving licence would be advantageous.
This is an Internship. An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.
