Overview:
EcoÉireann is a small consultancy seeking to appoint a Principal Ecologist to enable the delivery of the extensive range of work opportunities which have been developed across our operations since 2016. This will be a lead role within the company and comprises a great opportunity to shape the organisation and the projects we work on, lead complex elements of project delivery, promote staff recruitment and development, and contribute towards the organisation’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management systems. EcoÉireann will offer you the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects from habitat creation schemes and small developments to some of the largest construction projects in Ireland and the UK, and to contribute in a meaningful way to nature conservation.

Overview:
The Parish Habitats and Biodiversity Project (PHAB) is a collaborative project, led by Ballyhoura Development, in partnership with a number of statutory and local organisations, which will run until December 2022 to support farmers to enhance biodiversity and habitats across Glenroe-Ballyorgan Parish including within the catchment of the Keale and Ahaphuca Rivers and in the uplands of Glenroe-Ballyorgan in County Limerick.

This project is funded by the European Innovation Partnership Scheme (EIP), which supports projects that allow farmers, scientists, and other experts to collaborate to develop new practices that are environmentally friendly and economically sustainable.

Ballyhoura Development is inviting written tenders from competent individuals, companies or consortia with expertise in biodiversity, sustainable farming, the agri-environment and associated areas, and community engagement and participation.

The Irish Agroforestry Forum (IAF) seeks to promote, demonstrate and encourage agroforestry uptake
and implementation of best practice for farmers and landowners across the island of Ireland. The
appointee will support planning and execution of targeted promotional/educational initiatives to
highlight and develop the potential of agroforestry in Ireland. This will be provided in line with the IAF
Strategy for Agroforestry Support in Ireland (available on application). The appointed person will liaise
closely with, and be supported by, the Irish Agroforestry Forum Steering Group in the planning, delivery,
evaluation and reporting of initiatives as well as building linkages with a range of stakeholders.
